Pros:

- Relatively inexpensive.

- Rustproof materials.

Cons:

- Water flow is restricted by the ball valve's 5/16" hole diameter.In other words, using this device reduces the effective inside diameter of a connected garden hose to 5/16".Garden hoses are typically 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" I.D.

- The plastic tightening ring is the weak link in this product.It will eventually fail, particularly if it's cross-threaded (threads misalign) with a brass female hose end.

Summary:

I gave up on this product, and now use 1/2" ball valves on each garden hose; see Customer Images.These valves have 1/2" female threads on each end and the ball valve's hole is 1/2" diameter, which allows excellent water flow.They also have a large handle and are designed to last for decades.
