Well, I am not too concerned about people stealing my water, quite frankly.The problem is this.I have neighborhood kids who walk through my unfenced backyard constantly.Like all kids, they sometimes get thirsty, and take a drink from my faucet.The problem is that they have left it on full blast twice, now, causing a huge mess, and a huge bill.These locks put an end to that.They are individually keyed, so, if you have different faucets you want to protect, you must label each of the two keys that come with the lock to identify them.
I don't blame the kids too much.I drank from many a neighbors spigot when I was a child.I just wish that they would be responsible.But since I can't rely on their parenting, I can rely on these little locks.
An alternative solution to the problem for the kids is to remove the handle...yet that would surely not deter determined water thieves.
