This is a beast of a hose, as you know, which is why you're looking at a 1 inch hose. Please note that it's difficult to find quality nozzles that aren't a complete rip off or aren't adjustable, but I bought this hose on Amazon and am very happy with it. I bought the hose along with the pressure washer and the hose doesn't fit the unit.The manufacturer says they're not compatible.I asked why it's listed on Amazon as "buy together" when I bought my pressure washer.The manufacturer says Amazon did that and they never claimed it would fit.They said they would "allow" me to return the item but I had to pay shipping both ways.Let's see, a $14 item that they already gacked me $9.00 to ship to me and then they want to stick me again for another $9.00 to return it.I think I'll list it for sale on Craigs List.

Chapin 16-Ounce Hand and Dusters Rose and Plant Duster Sprayer #5000 Review

Must be a trick to using it..have had this for a while and still can't figure out how to use it properly or if it is really useful. Pump to get compression then the dust starts coming out of the threaded area of the dispensor. Even when it is fully tighten.Ok, now its supposed to come out of the little flex nozzle, maybe it might 1x (all at once!!) then not again. Seems like there should be a trick to usig it so it streams continuaous for a little while at least, so you can spray litlely he entire bush. I tried to use it as a pressure tube then wait for the dust to come out..no such luck. And what if the bushes are higher then 4 feet..forget it, gravity is against you nothin at all..Oh by the way no directions on the cardboard enclosure ..would help if there was

I've had leakage problems with this unit since purchase. It was difficult to get the various supplied hoses connected to my exterior faucet hook up and to the 100' hose to be attached to it.Everything leaked.In desperation (after I'd tried everything, including plumbers tape)I asked my gardener to check the connections to see if he could get them to stop leaking. He advised that there was nothing he could do - all connection parts were defective (missing threads, crooked threads, threads that were too short).By this time, the return date was long gone. GardenSmith 577181 Pheobe II Infinite Spray Iris Hose Nozzle Sprayer Review

Just received this sprayer. It is well made and looks like it will last a long time, but I am disappointed with the spray pattern. The nozzle end turns and should adjust the spray from a wide short pattern to a narrow, tight spray pattern. The nozzle is called Infinite Iris which implies it should have a broad range of spray patterns. Found a cheaper, metal nozzle at one of the home improvement stores with just the range of spray patterns I needed. In fairness, if you just need a sprayer to water your garden and will be OK with a wimpy flow this product will be fine. But if you ever need to spray off the mud on the side of your vehicle, this won't cut it.

The hose fittings at both ends of the hose are not the standard American sized fittings to fit onto the faucets that we all have, nor the spray nozzles won't fit unless they are made of plastic in which case you can "strip" them onto the male end of the hose.I went to my local hardware store and purchased hose ends that would fit right. I paid more for them than the hose costed in the first place!!!

The Faucet HandleLock Review

March 17, 2009 I ordered 2 of the Faucet Handelocks via Flow Security Systems. I received two locks but no adapters forthe handles. I sent an E Mail and it was very promptly answered and folllowed up with a Phone call. I was told the 2 adapters would be immediately shipped andI received them today. I am impressed with the heavy duty of the brass but I really feel an instruction sheet should of accompanied it. ( more detail)

I have not installed them yet but I feel that they will meet my

expectation or I will advise in a new review.

4/20/2009 The locks are installed and I am very satisfied with the operation and quality of the product. The company also followed up to make sure the over sight was properly taken care off.

Apex 8885-50 NeverKink 5/8-Inch-by-50-Foot Commercial Duty Hose Review

I got this hose was a little scared because of the negative reviews I was seeing. My experience is that the hose is MUCH better at not kinking compare to my Flexogen (expensive) hose. The Flexogen was almost unuseable in my backyard 3 to 4 kinks constantly and losing water pressure all the time. This Teknor has in 5 days of watering only mildly kinked once and when it did, a shake of the hose freed up the kink. The flexogen I would have to actually pickup the kink and straighten it; with the Teknor just a simple flick of the hose while still watering was enough to fix it. Huge Improvement! I give it 4 stars because it can still kink so Neverkink is a misleading name but works so much better its really more of a 5.

Orbit Sunmate 56096 Metal Shut-Off Coupling Review

This valve is a good heavy duty option to cheaper units I have used.It has worked great so far with no signs of leakage.The cheaper ones I used were made out of zinc and used o-rings to seal.These o-rings would always get unseated with a decent amount of water pressure.Not sure of the internals of this brass unit but its action is smooth and it seems as though it will last.

Melnor T402 Deluxe Fireman's Hose Nozzle Review

This is a very nice well crafted nozzle in all respects except one, it seems to limit the flow somewhat from a typical nozzle, and doesn't give the same jet range when set to the thin narrow pattern. I purchased this and a Ray Padula version at the same time, and that one has a superior spray and flow in my view. Otherwise this is great.

Professional Soaker Hose - 50 Foot Length Review

I paid $50 for this while competing products were $20-$30 because I was hoping that it would be longer lasting than typical soaker hoses.It was indeed thick--so much so that it was very difficult to bend.This made putting it in difficult, but with enough massaging I got it into place.I turned it on, and water poured out of the joint nearest the hose bib.This wasn't just a leak--the joint didn't seem to contain any water at all.I was kind of frustrated because it was clear that there was a major gap in quality control, but I was pleased when I contacted the maker (Rittenhouse) and they offered to send a do-it-yourself replacement joint (though only after making it clear that they thought it was not their responsibility).When the new joint arrived, I realized that the new joint was non-rotating, which would make it difficult to screw the hose into the hose bib.I hooked it up, re-bent the hose so it would lie nicely in the garden, and turned it on again.This time, the new joint held, but now water could reach the other (closed) end, where it again poured out as if there was nothing holding it back at all.I tried 4 times to contact the company again, and they did not respond.I finally gave up and threw the hose away.I paid a significant premium for this hose in hopes that it would be well-manufactured (it is made in Canada).However, it turned out to be complete junk, and the customer service was unwilling to fix it.I suggest staying far away from this product and others by Rittenhouse.

Gilmour Hose Coupling Machine Kit #0725-0100 Review

I had been looking for a source for this device for years having used it at work and was excited when I found it on Amazon.com Hovever, I must say I feel a bit foolish having spent so much on such an obviously overpriced item. I could by several new hoses for the price of this hose repair kit. I was also disappointed in the following:

1.The machine requires extensive assembly.
2.The 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch mandrels are not included. This was not clear in the item description.
3.The manufacturer does not provide support for additional hose fittings and parts (What happens when one uses up supplied fittings?)
4.I emailed Gilmour for information on how to order the 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch mandrels but received no reply.

Having spent $231.86 on this item I would expect to receive the 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch mandrels in addition to the 5/8" mandrel and parts and support information. I have not had time to spend assembling this tool so I cannot comment on it's utility yet.

Gilmour W4 Spray Doc Wheel Pump 4-Gallon Sprayer Review

Unlike other cheaper sprayers I have bought, this one is still as good as new after two years of hard use.I keep it filled with Roundup with the squirter end hanging squirt side up when not in use.I have only emptied and cleaned the container once each winter.

It rolls and pressurizes easily on grass or rock but slides over concrete, particularly with light loads.The wheels worked better after I cleaned the wheel base.

Before I got this sprayer, I had to tote around 1 gallon sprayers, refilling several times, to maintain my 8 acre property.Now I just fill this baby up once and pull it easily behind me.

I estimate that I get about 30 seconds of spraying (the most I can get at a time) for 30 seconds of walking.As long as I keep walking briskly, I never run out of pressure.But If I am having to stop and spray a lot, I may have to make two rounds.It also seems to work better with full loads, possibly because the wheels get more traction so you get more pressure.

The new one holds pressure better than the old one:stronger and longer spray.I couldn't find a spot where I had to spray long enough for it to run out of pressure.But the old one still works well enough for me to use for spot spraying.

I didn't buy from the seller on Amazon - my complaint is about the product.it is supposed to take 175' of hose.I put on 100' of 3/4" rubber hose, and it is all I can do to real the thing up.The unit is awkward, has no weight to balance against the weight of the hose, and the handle popped out of its socket almost immediately.Unless your using a really cheap light weight hose, buy something more substantial!

Dramm ColorStorm Premium Pistol Spray Gun with Insulated Grip Review

I was hoping I had found a horticulturist-grade spray gun, but this Dramm isn't it, in my opinion.I bought two about a year ago and this is what I've found.First, it seems on the small side, but it's reasonably comfortable in the hand.It *looks* well-made, but it has some problems that call that into question.The nozzle tends to stick open if the plunger shaft isn't oiled frequently.I'm unable to obtain a strong, concentrated stream out of the nozzle.Perhaps most concerning, the pistol lever pivots on a riveted shaft, which has begun to rust--and that's with the spray guns spending the winter indoors.It seems to me that something that's expected to be wet when used as intended shouldn't be made out of components that rust so easily.

Ray Padula RP-SWOS-8 Soaring Waters Metal Turbine Oscillating Sprinkler Review

I have been looking for a good oscillating sprinkler. The 30 year old one my father gave me finally broke when I accidentally stepped on it in my shed.I regret that day.I have purchased and returned 4 so far.I ended up keeping this Ray Padula sprinkler after returning a faulty one (one of the nozzles fell out) for the season with regrets. The adjustment to manage how far it oscillates is not very accurate and you have to force it sometimes.With that, it works.It kicks out a great spread of water.It was on a timer to turn on 3 times a day every other day and once every morning (I live in the DC area).The construction seem good outside the oscillator.I will revisit this review after next season.

Hydro Tools 6212 12-Foot Pool Filter Connection Hose Review

I have a Splash above ground pool and every couple of years the hoses need to be replaced. I don't know why it only gets 120 degrees here...lol. Any way finding good filter hose is almost impossible in the middle of the desert. I bought some from Leslie's and the stuff is so cheap and it would barely slip on my fittings with a lot of effort and silicone. I knew it wasn't going to last. Well I gambled and bought this and wow! Slipped right on and seems pretty durable. We will see. It's only been on 3 days but I tell you what it is a hundred times better than Leslie's cheap junk! Oh by the way, if you order a 12' length it is on 12' piece not in cut off sections like Leslie's. I really should give this hose a 5 star but have only had it a few days but I like it so much I am going to order a 6' length for the discharge. I am running a 1.5 hp motor. Any way if any of you folks are fed up with junk I think you will like it.

EPDM Rubber Garden / Contractor's Water Hose, 5/8" x 100' Review

The fitting leaked on the reinforced end, on the hose side. We purchased this hose for our business since common garden hoses do not survive the
heavy use. A water pressure of around 150psi and a temperature 160F is what
we expose it to. This product looked great in the description and prior to installation. I cannot comment on the performance as ours was defective and could not be used. It could be that such defects are very rare, or it could be that it is a design or manufacturing flaw that may or may not appear immediately.
If any others have experience with this hose, please comment.

PRI Industries that sold us the defective hose offered to have it picked up so they can send it to the manufacturer for warranty inspection.
Unfortunately we cannot wait for this procedure as it is likely to take about a month or so. We ordered another hose from Grainger for about $16.00 more, and to make up for lost time we will pick it up ourselves.
We will attempt to obtain a credit since a replacement will result in our purchasing two hoses when we only need one.

Andrews Sprinkler Hose Review

I have used this product before, and can never find it at my local nurseries. It is extremely flexible, and easy to use. The features I enjoy best are that you can change the length of the soaker by removing the end, and putting it wherever you want. Also, you can remove the hose connector, and replace it as well. So, if your soaker develops a leak, you cut it off, and can use the remainder. Try that with another product! I recommend these soakers/sprinklers to anyone who needs fast, adaptable irrigation. I leave them sitting in my beds for use throughout the season.

Giant Venturi Leaf-Bagger 1 Blue Review

I bought this because I was tired of my Polaris 280 having to run for 4 hours or more to clean up the mess after a storm. We have a large Chinese Elm in our yard and didn't want to lose it when we built the pool.

The Swimline Leaf Bagger allows me to pick up a mess of leaves in less than 30 minutes. I easily hooked the hose from my Polaris to the Bagger inlet by disconnecting it just before the backup valve, then hooking it to the Bagger. The Bagger connects to a standard telescopic pool utility pole.

It makes picking up a mess of leaves on the bottom easier than skimming the surface, and uses the same pole. Highly recommended if you have a leaf problem with your pool.

Armadillo Water Hose, Garden, 6 Ft Review

Finding quality garden hoses has been a challenge for me.We have a couple of high-quality rubber 25' and 50' foot hoses, but wanted a 5-6' extension hose so that water from the yard faucet on the side of the house was splashing down near the foundation.

However, every "extension hose" (i.e., 10' or less) I found were cheap: usually made of vinyl, and would kink almost automatically.What I wanted was something that would last through this summer, and for at least several summers to come.

When I came across the 6' Armadillo hose, I was hesitant to buy it.I don't really need a reinforced metal hose that's chew-proof, or would be good in over 120-degree heat.(Heaven forbid we get that in Seattle!)But it did look sturdy, so I decided to buy one and see what it was like.

In short, it's excellent.Besides being sturdy (I expect to have this extension hose working for at least 10 years), it's extremely flexible, easy to grasp.More importantly, it has the *best* connectors I've ever encountered in a hose.No leaking whatsoever -- and with soaker hoses connected to it, that's been a problem even with our quality rubber hoses.

(Minor note: the connector comes with a rubber O-ring; you'll need to push it in to more firmly seat it before it will work without leaking.)

We are *very* satisfied with this hose.We don't have a need for a longer hose where we live, but I plan to buy a couple more of these 6' Armadillo hoses for the other faucets we have in our yard.

Ray Padula RP-CRSS-3 36-Inch Comfi-Rain Water Wand Review

This item arrived in a large box with no packing material. It was plastic and aluminum, cracked in two places and leaked so I returned it. No problems with the return. My examination of this item suggested that a replacement would likely break easily as well, either upon shipping or in the yard - not what you want in a garden tool. I got a refund on the item and bought a similar but better built water wand at Ace for about the same price.

Apex 8640-100 NeverKink Extra Heavy Duty 3000 5/8-Inch-by-100-Foot Hose Review

I've had this hose for about 2 months now. Just as advertised, the hose does not kink, which is the main feature I was looking for. It looks well-built and so far I really have no complains. Amazon is asking me to rate it, so I give it 4 stars, as I still have not had it long enough to see how it performs in cold weather as well as extreme sun exposure.
Good deal for the price.
