I bought this after being frustrated with having to purchasing a new sprayer every spring because they corroded, leaked or just didn't hold up. The SP sprayer is expensive but worth every penny. Mine came with a fractured pump tube and after I contacted SP through their website, I had a new pump tube within a week. The customer service was excellent and the sprayer holds pressure for far longer than any sprayer I have tried (and I have tried lots of brand name sprayers). I was not satisfied with this product. After putting solution in it, closed the cap and used, I tried to twist it off to use again and the handle snapped off, the pressure was not strong at all. I believe the handle should be reinforced with thicker or better material.

RE Chapin Premier Compression Sprayer Review

I have this steel (non stainless steel) model which lasted only 3 years before rusting an leaking at the seam under pressure. The pressure was quite good. That was the bad news, the good news, company replaced the whole unit without charge after 3 years because the tank leaked.The pressure is quite good.I use it for small trees, bushes and it works great.The proper way to bleed out the pressure is to turn the unit upside down and release the pressure throught the wane before refilling. There will be some Liq. in the wane, so be careful.

Chapin Industrial 3.5-Gallon Viton Concrete Open Head Sprayer #1949 Review

I use this sprayer to apply a very thick sealant on my stamped concrete sidewalk once a year. I also use it so apply a slightly thinner sealant to my concrete flat work around my house.

Overall, the sprayer is very dependable and durable. It applies sealants very evenly and does not require constant pumping to retain pressure. My only complaint is that the wand does tend to drip fluid when it's at rest, so you have to be careful where you set the sprayer when you're taking breaks during your sealant application.

Gilmour W4 Spray Doc Wheel Pump 4-Gallon Sprayer Review

Unlike other cheaper sprayers I have bought, this one is still as good as new after two years of hard use.I keep it filled with Roundup with the squirter end hanging squirt side up when not in use.I have only emptied and cleaned the container once each winter.

It rolls and pressurizes easily on grass or rock but slides over concrete, particularly with light loads.The wheels worked better after I cleaned the wheel base.

Before I got this sprayer, I had to tote around 1 gallon sprayers, refilling several times, to maintain my 8 acre property.Now I just fill this baby up once and pull it easily behind me.

I estimate that I get about 30 seconds of spraying (the most I can get at a time) for 30 seconds of walking.As long as I keep walking briskly, I never run out of pressure.But If I am having to stop and spray a lot, I may have to make two rounds.It also seems to work better with full loads, possibly because the wheels get more traction so you get more pressure.

The new one holds pressure better than the old one:stronger and longer spray.I couldn't find a spot where I had to spray long enough for it to run out of pressure.But the old one still works well enough for me to use for spot spraying.

You know, I hate to say it, but even after 40, I still love playing with the water hose.I mean, when watering the plants, I have always enjoyed practicing with my thumb over the opening to vary the different types of sprays I can make to water my trees, shrubs, and flowers.Only recently did I decide to break down and get a nozzle.I hesitated because after 40 years, I can recreate almost any spray that you can get with a nozzle with my thumb [or so I thought], and with a lot more entertainment in the effort.Yet, it was time to get a new hose because my old one kinked and was too short, and I had another opportunity to look for a good nozzle to go with it.

This nozzle is great!The pistol grip is comforable, even if the "trigger" hole is a bit cheesy, and it has a familiar feel with the lever.The lever has a "kickstand" to keep it actuated if your hand gets tired, and it has a dial in knob on the back to adjust the strength of the stream.If it just had those two features, I could really like this nozzle.

Now my experience with "dial a spray" type nozzle heads is that usually, they clog.So far, this hasn't been the case with this unit.And, really, this has the best and most practical variety of sprays available on a multi-spray nozzle head.I love the 'mist' setting, which when you are done with the plants goes great on the back of your neck without getting you soaked in the process.There are several other settings which are practical for different applications from watering delicate flowers without spraying potting soil all over the place, to giving that Japanese Maple an adequate summer drenching.And really, honestly, having all the settings makes it a little more fun in trying to figure out what works best for the application you need.I usually rotate between 4 or 5 of the settings, which is the most settings I have ever used on a nozzle.

Gilmour has a reputation for quality.While this is basically made out of plastic (some parts feel slightly rubberized) the construction seems adequate to hold up after a period of use.I don't say this lightly.If this product does break down prematurely, I will update the review immediately.But, I haven't had this long enough to give you any testimonials on how well it will hold up.Right now, I can only guess.

Overall, I was well pleased with this product.

Highly recommended.

UPDATE 08/20/09

Ok.I might have been a little optimistic about the durability issues.After a couple of months of extreme Oklahoma heat, repeated drops onto the sidewalk, and into the pinebark mulch, the spray is, well, a little wonky.What I mean by that is sorta like a showerhead.At first, the 'round' spray looked like a perfect circle, and now it has a few streams going astray.Still does the job.Doesn't leak.Probably will work within acceptible limits for years.But if you are a perfectionist whose wife doesn't like the front porch "puddly" because of stray sprays coming out of your nozzle, this doesn't look like a overly long term solution.I'd estimate 2 to 3 years tops.

Yet at the price point, you could probably replace it fairly often, and for that reason, I think I'll keep using it, or a replacement of it for a while.It is still the best multispray variety I have enjoyed, and that is the most important thing to me.

Chapin SureSpray 1-Gallon Sprayer #20010 Review

I was paying a professional pest control company $300 per year to spray my house once per quarter for bugs. Like many others, I need to find ways to save money so I did a little research and learned that for the price of one of these gallon sprayers and some bug killing solution I can do my own pest control for about $20 per year! What a great savings and since I've been doing it myself, I find a lot less live bugs in my house and more dead ones. I think I do a more careful/thorough job... save money and better results!

As for this sprayer, it is a neat compact little unit that is easy to carry around the house with a gallon of liquid in it. It has good pumping action and a few pumps will last quite a while before re-pumping.The spray nozzle is adjustable and can be set from stream spray to very wide mist spray.

All in all a good unit, working great for 1.5 years now and helping me to save money.

Nicely constructed!You may be trying to decide between the 1 gallon model and this 2 gallon model.The benefit of the larger model is that, for example, if you only have 1 gallon of liquid inside, there is still 1 gallon of air pocket left over that you can compress for more spraying power.If you buy the 1 gallon model and you fill it completely, then there is very little air inside that you can compress initially.This is the perfect size for easy carrying around the garden, just fill it half way with liquid and the leftover volume is a larger air spring.

Tired of wasting money on the expensive nozzles that clog or break or get stock on the hose etc, I decided to go cheaper.This has the most option I have ever had on a nozzle, it feels solid, gives good water pressure, so ffar I love it and if it wears out or breaks as quickly as the costlier ones, at least it was cheaper!

Gilmour 362 Professional No Pre-Mix Sprayer, White Review

The Sprayer worked great for a week or so then I noticed the liquid Fertilizer was not going down in the bottle very much.So I gave it a test and dialed the highest level and sprayed it for a good while. The liquid went down none.I took the sprayer a part and cleaned it real well.It was pluged up.I then read the read instructions and it told me to clean it well after each usage.I cleaned it and it work perfectly.I then started cleaning it every time I use it and it works well.Here is how I clean it. I filled a 2 gallon bucket with water and now every time I use the sprayer when I am finished I unscrew the bottle and stick the entire sprayer in the water and turn it on and it cleans it real well.
