Save your reviews on this thing until you've owned it awhile.I used it only the end of one season and it worked well.I drained it and stored it inside.The next spring it wouldn't oscillate consistently.This sprinkler looked too good and appeared too well made so I bought another one.It too stopped oscillating consistently after one season.I would come out and find one area of the yard flooded and the rest dry.A sprinkler this expensive should last more than one season. I'm going to buy a cheap one and throw it away if it quits.I could make a down payment on a car for the price of two of these boat anchors.

Gilmour Metal Impulse Sprinkler on Zinc Spike Base #967HZS Review

I have been using 6 of these sprinkler heads daily since September 2009 and they have worked very well.We use them for irrigation for our garden.We remove the head from the spiked zinc base and screwed them into a PVC fitting on a run of 1-1/2" PVC pipe and one is positioned at each 40' interval.This system is on a auto timer and it runs one hour every day of the week.
The only complaint we have is the stops that trigger the sprinkler to reverse at the end of its preset cycle all seem not to be secure enough and about once a week we need to readjust the sprinkle pattern, as they open up too wide.This is the only reason I did not give it a 5 star.The sprinkler operation itself is very good and the control for setting the distance is well designed and locks into place.
I have 3 spares on-hand just in case, but as it looks now, we will not have to use them for some time to come.

Nelson Eight Programmable Watering Cycles Electronic Water Timer with Second Convenience Outlet #56610 Review

It used to be that the name Nelson pretty much guaranteed quality. No longer. I purchased this item from Walmart and then was dumb enough to throw away the receipt.
Problems:

1- The display is extremely difficult to read in the shade OR direct sunlight. Small thin alphanumeric characters. Very poor design.

2- The timer bypass valve to the hose delivered about 25% of the volume necessary for proper hose function. Very poor design!

3- Lastly, the timer programming simply didn't work! Programming is second nature to me - I built my own commercial radio station (engineering). That wasn't the problem.

Between design flaws and non-functioning, this item gets an F grade. Even if it DID work, the design is terrible.

Dramm Kaleidoscope Premium Rain Watering Wand 30-Inch Length with Touch-N-Flow Valve Review

Gilmour 996D Pattern Master Impulse Sprinkler Review

I own two of these sprinklers, one for each part of my backyard. Before I bought the first one, I read the online reviews and thought it sounded like an interesting concept. Well, it delivered everything as promised. I have a square backyard and an alley. The square part is too big to water with ordinary sprinklers. Now I put this sprinkler right in the center of the lawn and set the adjustments (only need to set them once if you don't change them) and it waters everything. It shoots all the way to the corners (about 40ft), but then doesn't shoot over the fence or hit my patio when it gets to the shorter distances. The one for the alley is adjusted to shoot all the way up the alley (about 30 feet) and then it arcs toward my fence and shoots a 4ft. spray. These sprinklers do a great job. One thing to keep in mind: in order to avoid having to adjust the sprinkler every time you use it, it is easiest to simply place the sprinkler back in the same spot every time you use it. If you place it in a different spot, then the adjustments will have to be redone.

I have this steel (non stainless steel) model which lasted only 3 years before rusting an leaking at the seam under pressure. The pressure was quite good. That was the bad news, the good news, company replaced the whole unit without charge after 3 years because the tank leaked.The pressure is quite good.I use it for small trees, bushes and it works great.The proper way to bleed out the pressure is to turn the unit upside down and release the pressure throught the wane before refilling. Weber 41455 20 Pound Tank Adapter Hose for Use with Weber Q and Go-Anywhere Gas Grill Review

the small screw on tanks work very well. But when using the adapter hose on a 20 lB tank the flame is too weak to grill, especially when the outside temp is in the 40s or lower.

I've tried slowly turning on the tank valve waiting a bit before lighting the grill, but the flame is still too low. I'll have to wait til summer before I can use the 20# tank with adapter hose again.

EDIT: After trying the procedure below I'm up and cooking again with full force even with it being 35 degress outside.

BYPASS INSTRUCTIONS
GAS GO ANYWHERE, WEBER Q + BABY Q
Since 1995, all regulators on gas barbecues have a safety device which restricts the gas flow in the event of a gas leak. You can inadvertently activate the safety device without having a gas leak. Typically, this occurs if you open the LP tank valve too rapidly, or if the valve + regulator assembly is in a slightly open position when opening the LP tank valve.
Your must remember when you are grilling you should always do the tank valve first and then the valve + regulator assembly when you start grilling or stop grilling. Never turn off the valve + regulator assembly before the tank. Gas is trapped in the valve + regulator assembly and adapter hose and the next time you turn on the tank, that residual gas in the line will back up and trigger the safety device.

Also, when you start grilling, you should open the tank valve V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y, about ¼ turn at a time until it is all the way open before you turn on your valve + regulator assembly to light the grill even is it takes 30 seconds to a full minute. If you've just had your tank refilled, it has a lot more pressure in it at first than after you use it for awhile. That may trigger the safety device sometimes, too. These conditions can be recurring. If it happens again, then you will need to go through the reset procedure again.

If you do activate the gas regulator safety device, the barbecue will only reach temperatures between 250 and 300 degrees, even with the valve + regulator assembly on the HIGH setting.

TO RESET THE GAS REGULATOR SAFETY DEVICE:

Open the barbecue lid.
1.Close the LP tank valve.
2.Turn valve + regulator assembly to the OFF position.
3.Wait at least 5 minutes if the barbecue had been lit
4.Disconnect the adapter hose from the LP tank.
5.Turn valve + regulator assembly to the HIGH position.
6.Wait at least 2 minutes, then turn valve + regulator assembly to the OFF position.
7.Re-connect the adapter hose to the LP tank.

RE-LIGHTING THE BARBECUE:

Open the barbecue lid.
1.SLOWLY open the LP tank valve 1/4 turns at a time all the way open.
2.With the lid open, turn valve + regulator assembly to the HIGH position.
3.Ignite the grill by pushing the crossover ignition button.
4.After the burner is lit, close the lid.
5.The barbecue should reach 500 to 550 degrees in 10-15 minutes.
WHEN YOU ARE DONE GRILLING:
Turn off the LP tank valve first
Turn valve + regulator assembly to the OFF position.

Gilmour C58F 5/8-Inch Female Coupler Review

I almost ordered 20 of these hose fittings at $1.77 each, a total of $35.40 which is a very good price.Just before I hit the"buy it" button I noticed that shipping and handling was over $17.We're talking hose fittings here; little things that go on the end of garden hoses. This is a sucker play by Amazon and/or the underlying business and the reason I don't go to Amazon unless I can't find an item somewhere else.So if the price is too good to be true, be real careful before you actually buy it because that's where they get you.

A really nice machine at a great price. Excellent performance and very pleasantly surprised at the quality. Somewhat light packaging but arrived without damage. Easy assembly.

Features - Appears to be accurate, quality Honda clone. Big wheels. Nice one-touch folding handle. Decent hose length (14 paces). Good connectors. Powder-coated frame.

Minor annoyances - Handle-folding mechanism crowds pressure-regulator knob. Fuel cap is shallow, slightly difficult to grip. Hose rack is wider than necessary and gets in the way when maneuvering in tight spaces. Hose rack/gun holder is dysfunctional when handle is folded down.

Note - Back off pressure regulator somewhat before starting engine.

Recommendation - Chop off hose rack and weld a dog-legged post on frame to attach hose reel Briggs & Stratton Pressure Washer Hose Reel #6052 (not a live reel, but cheap and compact, fits above pump).

The reel is too low to the ground with too little clearance from the base of the cart. Because of the clearance, I have to carefully make sure that the hose winds neatly on the reel. Further, the wheels do not stay firmly connected to the axle. I need to continually give them a kick to make them click on. I will likely sell this model and get a better one with a larger reel with more clearance.

This is a perfect hose. It's tough and sturdy, yet supple. It's easy to uncoil and--most important--fast and easy to coil up. If the hose is empty and you force it, it can bend/kink--but that's temporary and it doesn't kink as easily or often as other hoses I've had. It unbends easily and there's no damage to the hose.

There are hexagonal grips on both ends of the hose--which helps if you need to tighten or loosen a stuck nozzle. It's made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty.

When you first get the hose, straighten it out (uncoil it) and leave it in a warm, sunny spot--that helps to relax the hose from being tightly coiled for so long in its packaging. (If you are in Puget Sound you can also find this at McClendon's).

I wish I had found this hose sooner. It's a joy to use. I have it in 100 feet and 75 feet--and I'm waiting for my Swan hose to break, so I can replace it with this one.

Ray Padula RP-ETD-3 Time It Duo Dual Outlet Automatic Water Timer Review

The product itself was working ok, but it broke in the first month when I pulled the hose too hard and it snapped off. That's not really the problem I have though as that was partially my fault.

The problem is with the Satisfaction Guarantee (Lifetime Warranty) that all of their products are supposed to have. I've called the company probably 20+ times in the last two months. I've NEVER gone anywhere but voicemail. They've never called me back. I've sent numerous emails. The first email I did get a response from the company saying they would send a replacement and that they just needed my address. Gave it to them and haven't received the product or any further replies to future emails. It's now been over two months.

I'm convinced the company is bankrupt. If so fine. But Amazon/Target/Lowe's shouldn't still be selling their products if the company no longer exists and is just running off old inventory. Or if they do, market it that way with a "no warranty" exclaimer.

I even tracked down their Chief Communications Officer & Executive Vice President of Marketing and dialed his extension. Voicemail...

Hose Shut-Off Valve 3/4 inch i Review

My previous brass shut valve was at least a hundred years old until some idiot destroyed it with the lawn mower.So I mumbled a few words to myself and went to the hardware store.Couldn't find a brass shut-off valve, anywhere -- box stores or local hardware stores.They're now all plastic or some cheap metal-like substance.

The picture of this shut off valve looks identical to the one I destroyed so despite the 50% charge in shipping I ordered it through Amazon.

The shut-off lever is plastic (!) and there's plastic elsewhere.

No one would think that a person would develop such a strong bond to a simple thing as a $5 valve but it's one of the few things that I have that last forever and never has any problems.

According to the seller, there was a restocking fee and I had to eat the shipping cost both ways.I called and they argued with me saying that the picture is just a representation.My response was that my negative feedback and a call to Amazon was going to be a representation of how I felt.The matter was resolved.

This is NOT an ALL-BRASS valve.

Raindrip R559DP Automatic Drip Watering Kit Review

OK first the pros, this will save you a lot of time compared with the "pull out the hose and spray it around" method. A lot of time. And your patio plants will love you for it too--I grow tomatoes, herbs, and flowers on my patio and all my little ones produced much better when I got this (with less water waste).

The downside... The attachment from the spigot to the machine always leaked. I couldnt' get it to fit perfectly right, despite trying everything in the manual. It would be really nice if they also included a rubber tube or something to fit over the threads and the end of the tube that attaches to the spigot to make sure nothing leaks.
The machine itself also conked out after about a year...I changed the battery and everything, but it never worked right again. I did buy another, but if there was another option out there I probably would have gone with a different brand.

These things are great. I was especially impressed because the 50' length of area needing soaking is on a very steep slope, and the soaker hose appears to water fairly evenly over its length. I needed a soaker because the rain water usually just runs off the ground surface without ever getting down to the roots of the plants. So, I buried this soaker hose about 2", mated it with a digital timer for 2 hours every morning, with the spigot valve set for a light flow. Works great! Absolutely no problems. Highly recommended.

High Pressure Hose 20' Review

What can I say, it's the exact same as the inexpensive (cheap) hose that came with the inexpensive (cheap) pressure washer.

Over time, I'm sure this one will kink and ultimately break the same way the original one did.

I knew this before the purchase - Reason why I bought: the pressure washer does exactly what I need it to do, so this is an inexpensive way to keep on using it without buying a new pressure washer.

Ray Padula RP-SREN Series R Advanced Functionality Extend-A-Spray Water Wand Review

I was very excited about getting this spray wand because it had the features I wanted and it looked well made.Since I use a watering wand a lot I wanted a good one and was willing to pay for it.I got the product quickly and immediately got it hooked to my hose.I was really pleased with how light weight it was and the thumb water controller was great.I was off and running with my new wand but then the trouble began.I had been using it for about a month I guess when it started leaking around the head joint and worse yet the thumb control quit working correctly.I would pull the thumb lever down to shut off the water but water kept on coming!Needless to say I was very disappointed and it's now off my hose and in the garage for my handy husband to take a look at when he has time and my old stand by water wand is back to work.I don't have much hope on getting it to work right but it's worth trying to fix it.
